Basic Juice Review

Pieropan Soave Classico Superiore, 2001

**** (4-Stars)

Price: $13

Producer: Pieropan

Origin: Veneto, Italy

Type of wine: Dry white wine made with 90% Garganega and 10% Trebbiano di Soave grapes

Try it with: Fine as an aperitif, appetizers, fish, poultry – quite flexible

Date Reviewed: Sept. 2003

A very light gold colored wine that packs a surprising wallop. This Soave produces complex scents of grapefruit, pear and lemongrass. In the mouth, it introduces itself with bracing crispness followed by smooth, subtle fruit flavors in a refreshing finish. This wine would work very well as an hors d’oeuvre companion at a cocktail party. Quite a wine for this price.
