Basic Juice Review

Domaine de Pouy. Côtes de Gascogne, 2001

**1/2 (2.5-Stars)

Price: $9

Producer: Domaine de Pouy

Origin: Côtes de Gascogne, France (southern France)

Type of wine: Dry white wine blend – 80% Ugni Blanc, 20% Columbard

Try it with: A good aperitif wine; picnic food, grilled seafood

Date Reviewed: March 2004

This is a reasonably priced French white wine. Domaine de Pouy is very light gold in color. The wine has a springtime nose – citrus, peach, grass, wet stone. In the mouth it is medium bodied with near over-the-top crispness. In fact, I thought it was a bit too tart for my taste. The flavors are primarily citrus with ‘minerals.’ If you like very crisp, white wines, the ‘de Pouy is for you!
