Can you imagine the look on the face of your friendly wine shop manager when you ask, “Do you have Bassermann-Jordan Deidesheimer Paradiesgarten Riesling?” Yes it’s a mouthful, but well-made German Riesling is worth the tongue twisting. The two really long German-looking words refer to a specific vineyard site. The word ‘Kabinett’ refers to the style of wine – which, in this case, is dry. Very pale straw in color with a little ‘prickle’ of glass-clinging bubbles. B-J Riesling is full of tropical fruit scents – Mandarin orange, pineapple and mango. There is also a hint of mineral aroma. This wine is light in the mouth, but full of flavor backed by mouthwatering crispness. A very unique, well made wine that will make you a Riesling lover. Worth the $20 price tag.
