Baron Herzog Chenin Blanc, 2002

***.5 (3.5 -Stars)

Price: $7

Producer: Baron Herzog

Origin: Clarksburg, California

Type of wine: Dry white wine made from Chenin Blanc grapes

Try it with: Good aperitif wine, pasta with pesto sauce; fresh mozzarella, tomato & basil salad

Date Reviewed: July 2004

Hurray hurray! One of the few very good wines from California under ten dollars. This light gold white wine has a slight green undertone. It’s full of citrus and peach scents. Underneath the fruit lies a soft floral aroma. The wine is simple tasting: dry, crisp & fresh. The tangy finish makes it a great appetizer wine.
