***1/2 (3.5 Stars)

Price: $9

Producer: Georges DuBoeuf

Origin: Beaujolais, France - technically part of Burgundy

Type of wine: Dry red wine made from the Gamay grape

Try it with: The original ‘Bistro Wine.' Try it with grilled salmon or chicken; Brats off the grill, hearty cheeses

Date Reviewed: April 2004

Strawberry jam with a little spice. Fairly light-bodied, yet surprisingly tasty & crisp. Chenas Is slightly tannic but balanced overall. A very good wine, at a great price. Try it for an evening by the BBQ.
