Frey vineyards produces organic and bio-dynamic wines. The term, “bio-dynamic” refers to vineyard practices that eschew traditional growing techniques and embrace a holistic approach to growing grapes. Frey zinfandel is bright ruby in color, without the thick purple appearance that many Zinfandel-based wines possess. The aroma is exuberant, with scents of ripe red berries and hints of chocolate and dates. The wine’s taste is quite tart, crisp (especially for a Zinfandel) and fruity. There are some ‘narrow’ tannins present that add body to the wine.
