Basic Juice Review

Artazuri, Garnacha, 2001

** (2-Stars)

Price: $8

Producer: Artazuri

Origin: Navarra, Spain (Northeastern Spain)

Type of wine: Dry red wine made from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape

Try it with: A good aperitif wine; grilled meat, hearty soups & stews

Date Reviewed: March 2004

This wine is made in the new ‘global’ style. Artazuri is youthfully ruby-red in color. The nose is all red fruitiness – cherries and raspberries. A sip of this wine brings two words to mind: fruity & bold. While this wine doesn’t say, “I’m from Spain.” Meaning, it’s not terribly unique. However, It is a fine value wine.
